Event Details
[Title] Observation and Manipulation: Approaching Neuro-Glial Communication
[Speaker] Ryuta Koyama, National Center ofNeurology and Psychiatry
Brain function is supported by the coordination of diverse cells including microglia, astrocytes, and vascular cells as well as neurons.
In this seminar, He will introduce the new phenomena of erythrocyte leakage and phagocytosis by microglia and non-cell death synaptic phagocytosis, which occur physiologically during development, based on studies that "observe" and "manipulate" intercellular communication at the molecular level in real time. In addition, he will introduce the three-dimensional co-culture system GNU (Glioneuronal Unit), which was developed to further the analysis of brain cell-cell interactions, and discuss neural circuit formation and glial function.
